Dr Wenquan Dong
I am a Research Associate at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, where I previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher focusing on the mapping of rubber plantations in Southeast Asia using remote sensing and deep learning techniques.
My research focuses on forest change, particularly variations in canopy cover and carbon stocks. I use satellite remote sensing, machine learning, and process-based modelling to study the spatial and temporal dynamics of forest ecosystems under climate change.
