Dr Bhaskar Adhikari, Temperate Asia Taxonomist
I have been working on the Flora of Nepal for more than 15 years, and my day-to-day job is to write floristic accounts and manage illustrations for the Flora. I have worked on floristic accounts of families Acanthaceae, Berberidaceae, Gesneriaceae and Parnassiaceae . I am also interested in using our scientific knowledge of plants to work with local communities to improve livelihoods, conserve biodiversity, and sustainably utilise natural resources. For this, I have been working with NGO’s and local communities in Nepal on various projects funded by the Darwin Initiative UK.
