This conference day covers key areas across a variety of topics from Advanced Higher Biology, with a focus on plant identification and taxonomy.
Pupils will have the opportunity to explore plant ID, learn about the collection and preservation of specimens, how “new” species are named and visit the glasshouses as well as attending lectures. Pupils leave knowing more about the conservation role of Botanical Gardens and why taxonomy matters.
Focus Areas: Field techniques, taxonomy, co-evolution and links with lab analysis and phylogeny, skills, careers.
Taxonomy Day is for Advanced Higher Biology learners.
Taxonomy Day will be in late October, dates and times to be confirmed.
