As someone who grew up surrounded by nature, scientific botanical illustration has always been a field that brings me joy.

I began my studies in June 2018 at the studio of scientific botanical illustrator and tutor Hülya Korkmaz in Istanbul. I trained at the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanic Garden for about six months until the pandemic at the end of 2019. During the pandemic, I completed the certificate program at the RBGE in 2021. I began my studies at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation in January 2022.

I started the online scientific botanical illustration diploma program at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in March 2023 and completed it in August 2025.

Title of project

Woody and Shruby Medicinal Plants

About the project

Medicinal plants have fascinated me since childhood. For this project, I selected five species from different families, each offering something unique to discover.

The first is the jasmine-scented mock orange, followed by the rosehip. The third is the cream tree, celebrated for its exquisitely fragrant fruits and striking flowers. The fourth is the strawberry tree, admired for its delicate blossoms, and finally, the pomegranate, rich in both beauty and charm.
