Palm Houses Printmaking

Create your own lino print inspired by the plants and architecture of our stunning Palm Houses

This day-long experience combines sketching, design and printmaking, allowing you to explore your creativity through a variety of artforms.

The morning includes exclusive access to the Palm Houses, offering an immersive experience among their striking architecture and world-renowned living plant collection. You will be guided through a variety of drawing activities with a focus on observing shape, pattern and structure before moving to the Botanic Cottage where you will use your sketches to design and hand-carve your own unique lino printing block.

In the afternoon, you will experiment with a range of plant-based and natural printing inks before creating your final hand-printed textile piece to take home.

The day is suitable for all abilities, and no previous experience of drawing or printmaking is required. All materials will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.

Please see the Frequently Asked Questions section below for more information on session arrangements and what to expect.
