Book of Earth encompasses 82 original drawings, bound into one volume. Tania Kovats created these works in response to The Lost Drawings by John Clerk of Eldin.
Kovats draws directly onto recent Scottish soil survey maps provided by the James Hutton Institute. Her focus traverses Hutton’s radical vision, geological timelines, soil structure, the wonder of earthworms, and the endless cycle in which land is shaped by the planet’s water.
