John Hope Gateway

• The John Hope Gateway is a bright, modern, and sustainably designed space offering both indoor and outdoor wedding venue options.

  Opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2010, it is our largest venue on site, defined by substantial proportions, warm natural accents and exceptional adaptability. Perfectly positioned to welcome guests following a ceremony in the John Muir Grove, this spacious wedding venue in Edinburgh offers an elegant transition from the romance of the Redwoods to refined dining and evening receptions.

  Generously designed across two levels, this space is fully wheelchair accessible and allows your celebration to flow seamlessly between upper and lower floors. The upper floor accommodates up to 200 guests for dining and up to 300 guests for vibrant evening receptions with ample space to dance the night away. 

  From the second floor, the venue opens onto an expansive decked terrace that drapes over the Garden’s water features, echoing the surrounding woodlands and immersing guests in the elements. With uninterrupted views across the ever-changing Biodiversity Garden, the terrace is further enhanced by an elegant outdoor bar and artisanal pizza oven, allowing celebrations to unfold beyond the glass-walled interior.
