Our work focuses on uniting conceptual understanding of the genomic nature of species differences, the development of new strategies for DNA-based identification, and application to research and consultancy projects.
Specifically, we undertake research to:
- Better understand the genomic nature of differences between species to guide the development of optimal strategies for DNA based identification of plants and fungi
- Develop and deploy effective assays for identification of species from specimens, complex mixtures, and traces of DNA in the environment to accelerate our understanding of the diversity, distributions, dynamics, and interactions of species.
