Today, the Botanics hosted the tenth UK Australian Ministerial Meeting attended by the British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson, Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Minister of Defence Marise Payne.
It was a chance for Regius Keeper Simon Milne and research scientist Dr Linda Neaves to explain some of the RBGE's important plant conservation work and to showcase our precious collection of Australian plants including the Wollemi Pine, once thought to be extinct but now parrt of a conservation programme here at the Garden.
