I followed a University training in plants, but ultimately choose an academic career in immunology with the dream of one day returning to plants biology.
Almost twenty years later in 2000, I had the opportunity to attend a short four-day course in botanical illustration with Anne Marie Evans. This first experience was a revelation and gave me much more than I had hoped for. This escape to another world had become a vital necessity and I attend short courses for many years.
After 2020, I was able to consider devoting more time to my passion. The RBGE Diploma is the first step toward this new life ahead of me.
Title of the project
Evergreen Mediterranean bushes and trees: A year in the Calanques National Parc in Marseille
About the project
I live in Marseille, France, near a unique protected site, the Parc National des Calanques. From a distance, the mediterranean flora changes little with the seasons, as the vast majority of trees and shrubs are evergreen. If you walk the paths regularly, you will discover a major evolution in this vegetation.
My project proposes a close-up view of Mediterranean landscape over the year, with a variety of species, some with discreet, hidden flowering, others with more visible, showy blooming. The idea is to help the uninitiated discover the beauty of nature and to promote the need to protect it.
