The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh's choir is growing, and we want you to be a part of it. Join us for our Winter/Spring 2026 term and help build a warm, welcoming community of voices.

What?
This is a fun, friendly choir of people who care about plants, singing about plants. From the freshest folk to the silkiest soul, we delve into a repertoire of plant-based songs over the course of a term. Expect songs about hibernation, new growth and the importance of plant life.
Who?Botanics Choir is for everyone, including the general public, community groups, RBGE members, volunteers, students and staff.
From choir enthusiasts to first-time singers, all are welcome. No singing experience is required and you do not need to audition or read sheet music. Parts will be taught in person each week.
When?The winter/spring 2026 term starts on Tuesday 13 January and runs until Tuesday 31 March (see the full schedule under Agenda). Recordings will be shared, so you do not need to worry if you miss a week.
Where?Botanics Choir meets in RBGE's Lecture Theatre in the Science Buildings, accessed via the Main Reception, 20a Inverleith Row, Edinburgh EH3 5LR. This is not a public entrance and located further north along Inverleith Row from the East Gate. A member of staff will be at reception to direct you on the first day of term.
There is bus stop nearby for the following services: 8, 9, 23 and 27.
AccessibilityWe are committed to ensuring that Botanics Choir is an inclusive and welcoming space. The Lecture Theatre is wheelchair accessible and an accessible toilet is available nearby. Lyrics are available in alternative formats including large print on request and recordings are available online.
