The hub was initiated in 2019 by the Scottish government through the Co-ordinated Agenda for Marine, Environment and Rural Affairs Science (CAMERAS) partnership to support the uptake and use of DNA-based methods for environmental monitoring in Scotland.
It is a virtual hub with representatives from approximately 30 organisations including government agencies, NGOs, HEIs, research institutes and charities. Originally operating from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, the hub’s secretariat is now based at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
Hybrid meetings are held one-two times a year and rotated across different member organisations. The hub also runs a mailing list. It has been involved in one major project to date: Developing habitat scale DNA monitoring in support of post 2020 biodiversity reporting requirements.
Details about previous meetings and projects can be found under the tabs below. Please contact the secretariat with any queries.
