The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh bursts into spring with the return of its annual Easter Trail.
Immersed in the Garden’s spectacular Living Collection of plants, this family day out offers young visitors a chance to explore the Botanics in a colourful seasonal adventure. Designed to encourage observation and an appreciation of the natural world, the Easter Trail is made with young explorers and families in mind and runs from Friday April 3 to Sunday April 12.
Starting at the West Gate in the John Hope Gateway, visitors are invited to hop along Botanic Bunny's tracks on a self-guided path using the specially designed trail map found inside the trail booklet. Read the panels along the route to unravel seasonal riddles and get to know the flora and fauna that make the Garden their home. This year, help Botanics Bunny discover ideas for decorating their Easter Bonnet - be inspired by the sights and smells of the season as the Garden bursts into life for spring.
Answer all of Bunny’s questions and complete the trail booklet to earn a sweet treat. This Easter, Arran Ice Cream will provide a scoop of bespoke ice cream 'Chocolate Eggsplosion' as the reward. With shared values on sustainability and natural resources, the Garden welcomes this important new partnership with Arran Ice Cream. A vegan chocolate ice cream offering is also available. As a further Easter Treat, booklet holders will receive 10% off Arran Ice Cream when ordering from the Gateway coffee cart.
The Easter Trail will be open daily, from 10am – 4pm. It is suitable for ages three and up, though all ages are welcome. Pick up a trail booklet from the John Hope Gateway or the East Gate Lodge to get started. £3 per booklet, per child. No booking is required.
