Botanics Choir: Winter/Spring 2025

*

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh has launched a choir and we want you to be a part of it!

Be the first to sign up for our 2025 winter/spring term and help build our community.

What?

This is a fun, friendly choir of people who care about plants, singing about plants. From the freshest folk to the silkiest soul, we delve into a repertoire of plant-based songs over the course of a term. Expect songs about hibernation, new growth and the importance of plant life.

Who?

Botanics Choir is for everyone, including the general public, community groups, RBGE members, volunteers, students and staff.

From choir enthusiasts to first-time singers, all are welcome. No singing experience is required and you do not need to audition or read sheet music. Parts will be taught in person each week.

When?

The winter/spring 2025 term starts on Tuesday 14 January and runs until Tuesday 1 April (see the full schedule under Agenda). Recordings will be shared, so you do not need to worry if you miss a week.

Where?

Botanics Choir meets in RBGE's Lecture Theatre in the Science Buildings, accessed via the Main Reception, 20a Inverleith Row, Edinburgh EH3 5LR. This is not a public entrance and located further north along Inverleith Row from the East Gate. A member of staff will be at reception to direct you on the first day of term.

There is bus stop nearby for the following services: 8, 9, 23 and 27.

Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring that Botanics Choir is an inclusive and welcoming space. The Lecture Theatre is wheelchair accessible and an accessible toilet is available nearby. Lyrics are available in alternative formats including large print on request and recordings are available online.

Please let us know your requirements when you register or contact us directly at botanicschoir@rbge.org.uk to discuss further.
