African Trees

Building on two decades of research on the taxonomy and ecology of forest trees in Cameroon, Central African Republic and Republic of Congo, our work in completing these studies supports the sustainable management of forests in central Africa.

We are focused on the Sangha Trinational where we use a range of datasets from herbarium specimens and permanent monitoring plots to satellite images to understand the plants of this area. We work with in-country partners in the Republic of Congo on biodiversity science capacity building initiatives.
