Ellie Harvey, CMEP Project Officer
I joined the Centre for Middle Eastern Plants in March 2023, as a project officer for the AlUla diet project; a project looking at the diet of native and reintroduced herbivores in north-west Saudi Arabia. My role includes in country botanical survey, leading fieldwork expeditions to collect plot-based vegetation data and specimen material, taxonomic work contributing new regional species records, and vegetation data analysis. I am currently supporting other projects within the Arabian Peninsula and am involved with the Frankincense Resource Portal. My research interests lie in the intersection of plants with the environment, endemism and management strategies for Protected Areas and taxa of conservation concern.
