Information and guidance for using our Herbarium collections
Our collections are used in a wide range of research and can be accessed in-person, online via our Herbarium catalogue or via inter-herbarium specimen loan requests.
We welcome visitors by appointment. Please read our Visitor Policy for more information.
To request a visit, please complete the relevant visitor form, found in the Useful Documents sidebar, and send it to herbarium@rbge.org.uk.

Please arrange your arrival time with us before traveling.
On arrival, talk to our friendly Reception team. You will then be met by a member of the Herbarium team for a briefing and orientation
You may submit requests for not-yet-digitised specimens in our collection to be imaged. Once complete, these are available online for viewing and download.
Please send material sampling requests for analysis, such as DNA sequencing, metabolomics and palynology, to herbarium@rbge.org.uk.
