Plant health is becoming an increasing concern in the botanic garden community in Chile due to the identification of numerous new diseases. We collaborated with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to provide online training specifically focused on living collections and the known threats in Chile. The training included case studies and examples from other botanic gardens, which were very beneficial. As of January this year, 120 horticulturists have completed the course, and we are already observing improvements in their practices.

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh collaborated with us to provide training in seed preservation and storage for our staff. This training offered an excellent opportunity to learn about the successes and challenges of RBGE's conservation programs. The tutors were very generous with their time and expertise. Thanks to their support, we have successfully established a seed bank for flowering plant species native to Chitwan National Park.
