Robyn Drinkwater, Digitisation Officer and Technical Developer
I am part of the team responsible for the digitisation of herbarium specimens and library and archives.
My responsibilities include identifying and digitising new Type material and maintaining digitisation of regions or families where this has already been completed. I also develop scripts for internal use and help with suppplying data to our external partners.
As part of the Digitisation programme, we are looking at ways to improve the data we have for records, this includes exploring methods for using optical character recognition (OCR) to group records for easier transcription, and transcription through Citizen Science platforms.
