Experience remarkable Indian botanical drawings from RBGE’s collection.
Connecting Histories presents botanical illustrations of familiar and less familiar plants, depicted with both scientific accuracy and spectacular artistry. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is host to a remarkable collection of Indian botanical drawings within its archive – highlighting long and historic links to India. These unique drawings represent an often overlooked, important moment in the history of Indian art and highlight the movement of plants through Empire.
Connecting Histories is an Edinburgh Art Festival 2023 partner exhibition and supported by Players of People's Postcode Lottery.
