Of Scotland’s Soils and Soul
Celebrating Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022
-
Stories are vital to every part of Scotland.
Scotland's stories reflect who we are and shape how others see us.
Stories will take centre stage across our four gardens from 15 July to 15 October through enchanting audio trails inspired by words and nature. Encounter stories past, present, and future inspired by Scotland’s rich and diverse plant life.
From the rushes of Sunset Song to the tree inhabiting creatures of the Gruffalo, these stories have crossed Scotland and circled the world. They have been books, poems, songs, fireside tales and now they are being shared with you by some of our most familiar and exciting storytellers.
Through the voices of Emma Thompson to Tilda Swinton and Karine Polwart, journey into a world of plants, folklore and adventure through a series of four bespoke trails in the beautiful settings of our four Botanic Gardens.
Look out for a series of newly commissioned digital music events that will be available for streaming later in the year, featuring Rachel Sermanni, Hamish Hawk and Last Boy, shining a spotlight on the unique settings of Dawyck, Benmore and Logan Botanic Gardens through song, performance and spoken word.
