Indian Miniature Painting
This course will focus on trees and flowering vinesfound in 18th century miniature painting fromNorthern India. Techniques of Indian miniaturepainting will be used to lay the base colours offoliage and trunks, delineate different types ofleaves, build up tonal variations, create delicateoutlines, and paint tiny flowers in impasto. Studentswill work with traditional materials such ashandmade paper from India, squirrel-hair brushesand mineral and vegetable extract pigments.PRICE: £140/£126 for members.
