Mr Alistair Paxton (1972)
Edinburgh hort. staff in 1972 outside the library. Dick Shaw was the Curator and at the back left is a very young George Anderson now of Beechgrove Garden fame. I started work in 1968 as a Juvenile garden labourer under glass, I'm the one with a short lived beard standing near the back left. The picture shows an assortment of clothing worn before the Garden supplied its own with the logo, in those days it was not surprising to see tatty old dinner jackets being used. I retired in 2008 but happy to say that I still do a bit of volunteering.
