Joint meeting of SPNHC & ICOM NATHIST
The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) and National Museums Scotland are hosting the first-ever joint conference between two major Natural History Collection organisations:
- Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC) and
- International Council of Museums Committee for Museums and Collections of Natural History (ICOM NATHIST).
The theme for the meeting is ‘The Role of Natural History Collections in Global Challenges’.
The conference will be held from 7 to 13 June 2020, and is expected to attract approximately 700 participants in total.
The main venue will be the McEwan Hall in the center of Edinburgh, with evening events held within NMS and RBGE.
There is a full set of pre-conference workshops being organised for the SPNHC specialist & working groups and post-conference field trips and tours around Scotland.
