Members' coffee morning & talk: The Magic of Plants
Plants are truly magical organisms, but people throughout the ages have taken this literally, too. This talk looks at some of the many ways people have used plants for magic, rituals and witchcraft, touching on the ways these ideas evolved and the botany behind the magic.
Speaker: Greg Kenicer
Image: Atropa belladonna – deadly nightshade is often thought of as a classic herb of witchcraft, but was probably less important, and more local, than other species.
