Coffee Morning: Botanic Cottage Reborn

Discover the story of a unique building in the history of the Botanics: a 250 year old cottage which has been moved stone-by-stone from Leith Walk, and is being re-built in the Edinburgh Garden in 2014.

The fascinating flora of South Africa - an illustrated talk by David Gwynne- Evans talk

David Gwynne-Evans has spent eighteen years documenting the flora of the Cape Floristic Kingdom of South Africa, the smallest plant kingdom in the world. In his talk, he will be detailing some of the greatest of his finds and the unique habitats in which they occur. Fran Siebrits was tasked with landscaping "The Boomslang" canopy walk at Kirstenbosch and is a part-time manager at the Kirstenbosch Garden Centre. Together they will be revealing South African gardening techniques and landscaping subjects.

Guided Walk : Early Summer Highlights

Come along and enjoy a tour around the garden with a member of the garden staff to see summer sensations blooming in Scotland’s Most Exotic Garden.

Summer Solstice Yoga

A yoga session of about an hour, taking part outside in the gardens, weather permitting. If the weather is unsuitable, the yoga will take place in the Visitors' Centre. Yoga is followed by breakfast provided by the resident cafe.

Come along and enjoy a tour in the company of the gardener. See the vibrant colours and textures of the half-hardy perennials that sparkle and lighten up the garden in a floral firework display. Plants like Salvia, Argyranthemum and Osteospermum.

Come along and enjoy an autumnal tour around the garden in the company of one of the gardeners and see the early autumnal joys on offer. Some of the plants that you will see include Agapanthus, Eucryphia and Fasicularia.
