Plant Creche at Gardening Scotland

RBGE Friends are organising the two plant creches at Gardening Scotland this year. In doing so we will be raising the profile of the RBGE and raising funds for the Small Project Fund. We are looking for volunteers to help out at the creches.

Friends' Tour to China

A wonderful opportunity to visit a truly amazing botanical land with the reassurance of travelling with like-minded Friends and the knowledge that for each booking a contribution will go to help the work undertaken by RBGE.

Open Garden: Gilston Lodge

1 and 1/2 acres of enclosed walled garden in a rural setting. A Fascinating walk through 'rooms' full of surprises. Rhododendrons, ponds, trees and woodlands. There will also be a plant stall. Tea and coffee will be served.

Photographic Workshop

Bring your cameras, lenses and tripods to take part in this photographic workshop with Sandy Welsh at Dawyck Botanic Garden.

Coffee Morning: Botanic Cottage Reborn

Discover the story of a unique building in the history of the Botanics: a 250 year old cottage which has been moved stone-by-stone from Leith Walk, and is being re-built in the Edinburgh Garden in 2014.

Friends of RBGE Day Visit: East Lothian

We will visit one of Scotland's most exciting contemporary garden projects at Broadwoodside, Gifford; the gardens at Gifford Bank which surround the Georgian house; and the formal gardens at Bowerhouse, Dunbar.

Summer Solstice Yoga

A yoga session of about an hour, taking part outside in the gardens, weather permitting. If the weather is unsuitable, the yoga will take place in the Visitors' Centre. Yoga is followed by breakfast provided by the resident cafe.

Palmhouse Jazz Evening

Join the Friends of RBGE for an evening in the magnificent Palm Houses. Sparkling wine and canapes will be served and live music provided by the Roger Cull Jazz Trio. Tickets are available to Members and their guests.

Friends of RBGE Tour: The Splendours of Sutherland and the North

Two nights stay in Aberdeen followed by a two night stay in Thurso. On the last night there will be a special dinner at the Ferry Inn, Scrabster.

Open Garden: Laverockdale House

This mature garden with amazing vistas to the Pentland Hills has a spectuacular pond and waterfalls. Planting with shrubs, herbaceous perennials, woodland and raised vegetable beds. There will be a plant stall. Tea and coffee will be served.
