Inverleith House is delighted to present, I
still believe in miracles, an exhibition celebrating the originality and
significance of the gallery’s programme over the past 30 years.
Taking its title from a work by Douglas Gordon that is permanently installed in Inverleith House’s upper galleries, I still believe in miracleswill feature the work of 30 leading Scottish and International artists who have made solo exhibitions for Inverleith House.
Artists include Nicolas Party, Raoul De Keyser, Isa Genzken, Corin Sworn, Alex Dordoy, Dan Colen, Ciara Phillips, Andy Hope 1930, Philip Guston, Luke Fowler, Andrew Kerr, Thomas Houseago, Sue Tompkins, Marc Camille Chaimowicz, Victoria Morton, Karla Black, Cerith Wyn Evans, Hayley Tompkins, Richard Hamilton, Louise Bourgeois, William Eggleston, Juergen Teller, Douglas Gordon, Robert Ryman, Roni Horn, Mark Leckey, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Andy Warhol, Jim Lambie, Cathy Wilkes, Ed Ruscha, Lucy McKenzie, Lawrence Weiner, Richard Wright, Melissa Kretschmer, Richard Tuttle, Alan Johnston, herman de vries and Andy Goldsworthy.
Continuing Inverleith House’s commitment to the presentation of contemporary and botanical art the exhibition will feature botanical drawings from the collections of John Hope (1725-1786), John Hutton Balfour (1808-1884), Francis Buchanan-Hamilton (1762-1829) and Hugh Cleghorn (1820-1895).
There will be a performance with Olivia Norris, Isabel Palmstiema, Aniela Piasecka and Paloma Proudfoot.

Inverleith House is celebrating three decades of contemporary art and botanical exhibitions at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh with a presentation of rarely seen posters and invitation cards on display in the John Hope Gateway’s Gateway Gallery at the West Gate. Representing over 150 exhibitions and encompassing many more events, this exhibition demonstrates the significance both internationally and in Scotland of ‘the most ideal gallery in Britain’.
Featuring designs from some of our most popular exhibitions from Philip Guston to Ed Ruscha, Joan Mitchell and Lawrence Weiner, many of the posters on display are available for purchase at a special exhibition price.
