Evolutionary Plant Tour

Join Logan's very own Neanderthal and take a tour round the garden looking at what plant came when in history; as well as finding out a few facts about what makes a plant tick.

Make a Bird Feeder

Drop-in to the Yurt and construct your own bird feeder to take away and hang in your garden or window so you can watch our feathered friends stuff themselves silly for the coming autumn-winter.

Foody Fun

Join staff from the University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health and have some fun with food! Enjoy games and crafts and play food detective by putting your senses to the test. Suitable for all ages.

People’s Postcode Edible Garden Tours

Visit the Edible Gardening Project polytunnel, fruit area and vegetable plots for advice and inspiration. Free tours available at 12 noon, limited spaces so arrive early to avoid disappointment. Meet at visitor reception in the John Hope Gateway.

Make a Wind Chime

Create your own wind chime using the shells from locally caught scallops to hang in the garden, or window, in this drop-in-event. Some adult supervision/assistance will be needed if the children are very young as they will need to use a small craft drill.

Logan Plant Fair

Logan hosts a plant fair of Dumfries and Galloway’s finest gardens and nurseries. A great opportunity to purchase unusual plants that are rarely available to the public. Why not make a day of it and make a combined visit to the Garden and Plant Fair!

Fancy growing your own vegetables but don't know where to start? Pop in for some friendly advice from the edible gardening team. Focusing on seasonal gardening information the team will be on hand with advice, fun activities and garden produce tasters.
