Lessons will begin with a tour of the RBGE Herbarium, home to a collection of more than 3 million dried and preserved plants including many known to have magical properties! With specimens dating back to 1697, find out why this historical treasure trove is still vitally important today.

At 2pm we will harness the power of our magical communication system (also known as the internet) to catch up with Anna Pavord, author of The Tulip, The Naming of Names and, most recently, Landskipping, at the British Library for a live streamed talk, part of the Harry Potter: A History of Magic programme of events. Join Anna as she draws on her years working in gardens and researching and writing about plants and their history.

Following the live streaming there will be an opportunity to find out more about Herbology with Catherine Conway-Payne and colleagues from the RBGE before class finishes at 4pm.
