Scots born George Forrest, 1873-1932, tralled to China seven times from 1904 to collect seeds for nursery men and estate owners. Many plants grown from these seeds reside in RBGE's living collection and gardens across Britain. Around 31,000 of his herbarium specimens are stored in our Herbarium, and his photographs, letters, and stories are kept in the Archives. Join RBGE's archivist Leonie Paterson as, concentrating on Forrest's first expedition, she delves into the collection to tell some of these stories using Forrest's own words and images.
