This exhibition by the Scottish Furniture Makers’ Association (SFMA) features pieces by 25 makers, many of which are on display for the first time.  Focusing on the processes of designing and commissioning bespoke furniture, each piece in the exhibition has been developed with a particular place or person in mind.  Highly unique in design and material, many works use timber taken from elm trees grown on The Meadows, Edinburgh, donated by Edinburgh City Council.

The SFMA is a Scotland wide association of independent bespoke furniture makers.  One of the largest and most diverse groups in Britain, the SFMA aims to promote the finest in craftsmanship and design through the work of its members, and to develop a wider public awareness of contemporary furniture design in Scotland.
