Known for her dramatic, sensual charcoals & fluid line drawings, in this exhibition Tansy Lee Moir presents artwork which notes the strange similarities between tree & human forms, hinting at the ancient links between wood & flesh.
Her work is inspired by trees, their history & the influence that human actions have in shaping them: in the way they provide a solid representation of time. She uses maps, digital records & local knowledge to search out unusual or interesting trees, then makes drawings in the field to record her encounters, developing them in her studio as charcoals, pastels & photopolymer prints.
Tansy is based in Edinburgh & works at locations around Scotland.
