Garden History Society and Friends of RBGE Joint Lecture. 

Mark Paterson, Curator of the Cruikshank Botanic Garden, Aberdeen, will speak about the unique role of botanic gardens, both in the past and today. A key focus will be the triumphs and tribulations of filling the post of Curator at Britain's most northerly botanic garden. The University of Aberdeen has reinstated the role of Curator after a lapse of a quarter of a century and Mark will describe how he proposes to manage the Garden based on its historic development and his hopes and aspirations for its future.
