Ginger and its close relatives cardamom and turmeric have been important in the cooking of Europe for centuries, though none of them is native here. Come and hear more about this colourful plant family which is much bigger than you may think, including over 50 genera and perhaps 2,000 species. Bandrek, a hot ginger drink from Java, will be offered.
