Celebrate National Fungus Day by finding out what fungi are around and why they are so important to a healthy planet.
See displays of locally collected fungi and go into the Garden to collect your own photos of fungi and bring them back for identification.
Fungus tours will take place on Sunday 13th at 10.30am and 2pm. Tours will be led by Roy Watling and will depart from the reception desk in the John Hope Gateway. To book a place in advance email Scotland@plantlife.org.uk.
See examples of quilting and weaving made using natural fungi dyes. The rich palette of colours obtainable from fungi was only discovered in the 1960s. Trisha Gow will demonstrate weaving using these beautiful colours. The sustainable use of these natural dyes is carried out by members of the Scottish Fungus Group.
