Visitors to the Real Life Science Studio in the John Hope Gateway in the afternoon on the Big Craft Give-Away Day will receive a small craft object to own. There will also be drop-in making sessions with two craft artists. There is the chance to create a variety of seed pods inspired by Scottish trees and leaves in porcelain with ceramicist Lorna Fraser and botanical twists with jeweller Dorothy Hogg.

Botanic Necklaces

Drop-in Sessions: Saturday 21 September 2013
1pm – 3pm

In the anniversary year of the discovery of DNA we will make spiralling wire and use it to construct a pendant. Sessions guided by jeweller Dorothy Hogg.

Ceramic Seed Pods

Drop-in Sessions: Saturday 21 September 2013
1pm – 3pm

Celebrate the Year of Natural Scotland by creating your own ceramic seed pods of Scottish trees and plants working with ceramicist Lorna Fraser. There is also the chance to make the popular Big Craft Give-Away leaf in green.
