Join the challenge to record as much wildlife as possible over a 24 hour period in the Garden. Have a go at pond dipping, meet the Garden's resident sparrowhawks via a live nest camera and join a bird walk, join a badger watch, find out how to do moth trapping, discover the Garden's bats with a bat detector, see a tree canopy survey in action and discover what is involved in surveying small mammals. Places are limited and will be allocated on the day through a booking sheet at the John Hope Gateway reception desk. Sign up on the day after the official opening at 6pm in the John Hope Gateway.

The Garden's BioBlitz will feature on the BBC Scotland Midsummer Live programme being broadcast from the standing stones at Callanish.

Badger watch: Join a group watching the Garden's badgers

Tree canopy survey: See a canopy survey in action and find out what lives in the tree tops (viewing from the ground)

6.30pm to 8.00pm

Viewing area on the Oak Lawn to the north of the John Hope Gateway.

Bat walk: Find out how bats can be identified using a bat detector
