A joint lecture between the Garden History Society and the RBGE Friends. Kristina Taylor will be speaking about her new book, co written with Robert Peel, Passion, Plants and Patronage - 300 Years of the Bute Family Landscapes, the biography of a family by looking at their gardens and landscapes.
Kristina's lecture wil examine the importance of patronage in the creation of gardens and landscapes through the appointment of best practitioners, the conservation of buildings and structures and the advancement of botanical sciences by encouraging and participating in plant hunting and collecting.
Books will be available to purchase on the evening, but please note that only cheques and cash will be accepted as there will be no facilities for credit card payment.
