Joseph Rock (1884-1962) spent much of his life exploring and researching the plants, people and language of south western China from 1922 to 1949. He bequeathed his diaries and photographs to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, where, to mark the fiftieth anniversary of his death, a selection of images and excerpts from this collection will be on display.
