Find out how an artist's career grows. This event is aimed at students and young adults with a special interest in making art and the creative process. The event will include talks, Q&As and time to enjoy the Roots to Shoots exhibition.
Jeweller Jonathan Boyd (2007 Dewar Award), featured in the Roots to Shoots exhibition in the John Hope Gateway, will be interviewed by novelist Jenni Fagan (2007 Dewar Award).
Jonathan's work in Roots to Shoots 'deals with the strange and complex relationships that exist between object, written language and the body'. He is interested in 'how language can shape your thoughts about an object and its context'. Jenni Fagan, the Dewar-Award winning writer will interview Jonathan, to explore this fertile territory between the object and the written word.
Linked to the exhibition 'Roots to Shoots' which is on display in the Gateway between 12 December 2012 - 10 March 2013, celebrating ten years of Dewar Arts Awards in the visual and applied arts (www.dewarawards.org)
