Lokta paper is handmade paper made in Nepal, the heart of the Himalayas, using local raw materials, traditional skills and methods passed from generation to generation dating back to the 1st–9th century AD. This workshop will include an illustrated talk on Nepalese ethnobotany followed by Lokta paper making workshop and also a look at the the shrub Daphne which grows in the garden at RBGE. Taught by Dr Bhaskar Adhikari and Sunil Sharma.
