Guided tours

Make sure you see the best of Scotland's Most Exotic Garden by joining one of our guided tours. Guided tours are included in the Garden admission and take place at 10.30am every second Tuesday of the month from March to November. We also have guided walks at 10.30am on the fourth Tuesdays of June, July, August & September. No advance booking necessary.

2018 Guided Walks

13th March: Early Interest in the Garden

Enjoy the first tour of the season discovering the flush of emerging foliage and floral displays from plants such as Magnolia, spring bulbs and Rhododendrons, amongst many others.

10th April: Full Speed Ahead!

Come and enjoy a tour around the Garden to discover the carpets of Trilliums, exotic Rhododendrons and Peat Walls in all their glory.

8th May: The Magic of spring  

Experience an amazing tour around the Garden and see the stunning seasonal displays of floral delights including Primulas, Maddenia Rhododendrons, Paeonias and Meconopsis

12th June: Never Ending Colour!

Enjoy a splendid walk around the wonderful garden and see summer sensations blooming in Scotland’s Most Exotic Garden. You will see spectacular displays from Lantern Trees, Chilean Firethorn Trees, South American Lobelias and half hardy perennials kick starting the summer flowering season.

26th June: Early summer delights

Enjoy a tour around Scotland's Most Exotic Garden in the company of a gardener and see the early summer delights start to bloom.

10th July: The Magic of summer

See the garden in all its summer glory and enjoy a guided tour. See the vibrant colours and textures of the half-hardy perennials that sparkle and lighten up the garden in a floral firework display. Salvia, Osteospermum, Penstemon and Fuchsia are now in their element.

24th July: Summer Feast!

Treat your senses to a true feast of summer floral delights in Scotland's Most Exotic Garden. Enjoy the beauty of the Walled Garden and the wonders of the Woodland Garden in this fabulous guided tour.

14th August: The Height of summer

Come along and enjoy the Garden before the summer flowers start to fade. See the stunning display of waterlilies, exotic cannas and dazzling dieramas.

28th August: Never ending summer!

See the spectacular summer delights of late summer in this wonderful guided tour of Scotland's Most Exotic Garden. 

11th September: The tail end of summer

Come and enjoy an early autumnal tour around the garden in the company of a gardener and see the early autumnal joys on offer. See the lovely Agapanthus, Eucryphia & Fascicularia.

25th September: Sensational September delights

Enjoy the changing of the seasons as the garden progresses into autumn. See the lovely daisies, tree ferns and palms in this stunning tour of Scotland's Most Exotic Garden.

9th October: Early autumn shades

Enjoy an autumn tour around the garden with one of the many horticulturists. Garden highlights include many grasses, Salvias, Dahlias and autumn flowering bulbs. An ideal time to ask all those gardening questions that have always puzzled you!

13th November: Logan's Last Walk

Come along for the last walk of the season. See the magic of winter approaching and enjoy the Garden in all its autumnal glory.

Self-led audio tours

If you prefer to enjoy the Garden at your own pace, ask for a complimentary audio handset at Visitor Reception and discover the fascinating history, hidden treasures and seasonal highlights of this spectacular Garden. We also have fabulous audio tours specifically for children so they can discover the Garden at their own pace.

Booked tours for groups

Tours for groups can be arranged at other times and can be tailored to meet the needs of your group. Due to availability, we ask that you pre-book group tours at least two weeks before your visit to avoid disappointment. There is a small charge of £2.00 per person on top of normal garden entry.

A comprehensive souvenir guidebook is available to buy from the Botanics Shop or from the RBGE online publications store.
