November to January: 3.30pm (last admission 3pm)
February and October: 4.30pm (last admission 4pm)
March to September: 5.30pm (last admission 5pm)

The Gateway Restaurant
The Gateway Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea daily as well as Sunday lunch and a special kids menu.
The restaurant opens at 10am daily.

The Terrace Cafe
The Terrace Cafe serves delicious hot and cold food daily (self-service) and, when the sun shines, the tables spill out onto the terrace where visitors can enjoy an alfresco lunch with an unrivalled view of the city skyline.
The cafe opens at 10am daily.

The East Gate Coffee Bar
The East Gate Coffee Bar is situated at the East Gate entrance (Inverleith Row). Serving a wide selection of beverages and light snacks, the Coffee Bar is open daily from 10am until 15 minutes before the Garden closes. Outdoor seating available.
The Botanics Shop in the John Hope Gateway offers a fantastic shopping experience.
Choose from a wide selection of gifts, stationery, books, souvenirs, confectionery, seeds, bulbs and gardening products.
You will also find a large outdoor plant sales centre with a carefully chosen range of plants, including some more unusual varieties for those of you looking for something a bit different.
All profits from the Botanics Shop are used directly to support the work of the Garden.
How to get here
The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is located just one mile from city centre, and there are many ways to reach us. For travel details and a location map, go to How to reach us.
All buildings and major areas of the Garden are accessible to all visitors. Wheelchairs are available for loan at the Garden entrances and a self-driven mobility scooter (suitable for persons aged 16 and above) is available by prior appointment. Please contact the Visitor Welcome Team via the enquiry form (select ‘Garden Rangers').
You can take photographs and videos in the Garden for personal use. All filming and photography for commercial use or the use of tripods is by permit only. Details of any requests for filming or photography should be discussed with the Visitor Welcome Team on 0131 248 2909 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that no animals except Registered Assistance Dogs are permitted within the Garden and children under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult.
