My main research interest focuses on the Old World Gesneriaceae. RBGE has a long history in research on this plant group starting in the 1950ies with alpha-taxonomic work by B. L. Burtt. Today we apply modern analytical methods to address a wide range of issues, covering Molecular Systematics, Evolutionary Development,  Biogeography and Speciation, and Cytology.
