PhD programmes

RBGE's research programmes are extremely varied, from whole organism research and taxonomy to population-level molecular genetics for conservation. Much of our research also covers elements of biodiversity inventory work, ecology and plant genomics, as well as sustainable development and capacity building overseas.

RBGE does not award degrees, so PhD or other research students need to have an existing affiliation with a university. Students who feel that the involvement and expertise of RBGE staff may be of benefit to their PhD studies are encouraged to talk with their university supervisor and then contact the appropriate member of research staff in the science or horticulture divisions.
