Herbal medicine

Our short courses offer an introduction to the fascinating history and contemporary practice of herbal medicine. We also offer an RBGE Diploma in Herbology. Each of the individual programmes of study affords a unique opportunity to learn about the healing properties of herbs, create wonderful therapeutic remedies and explore behind the scenes of Edinburgh's oldest physic garden.

Garden Design for Gardeners

A course that focuses mainly on the selection of plants for various settings and growing conditions, and explains how to create that all important year-round interest for your garden.

Introduction to Horticulture

A ten-week theoretical course covering a range of topics, from soil science to pruning to plant anatomy. Suitable as an overview of horticulture for absolute beginners, or as a stepping stone to the RHS (level 2) Certificate in Horticulture.
