Search the RBGE herbarium catalogue

How to search

Enter the details of the specimens you are trying to locate in the appropriate fields and click "Search Catalogue".

Entries can be either upper or lower case.
Either * or ] can be used as wildcard characters at the end of any search values.
For example, to search for all values starting with Gent, enter gent* or gent]
Multiple search criteria in the same field should be separated by the word 'or'.
For example, to look up both Gentiana and Rhododendron, enter gentiana or rhododendron in the Genus field.

Family:

Enter a family name to retrieve all records for that family

Genus:

Enter a genus name to retrieve all records for that genus

Species:

Enter either a specific epithet to retrieve all records with that epithet or a binomial to retrieve all records for that species binomial

Collector:

Enter the last name(s) of the collector(s) retrieve all specimens collected by that person

Collector's number:

Enter the number assigned by the collector at the time of collection

Barcode:

Enter the barcode number assigned by the RBGE herbarium to the specimen

Country:

Enter the name of a country to retrieve information on RBGE specimens collected in that country

Type of:

Enter the latin name of a taxon for which you wish to find the type. If the type is housed in the RBGE herbarium and information is available on the that specimen the information will be displayed

Default sort order (Filing name)

Sort by collector and collector number
