Two exciting new publications are released this month at RBGE:
Monkey Puzzle Man: Archibald Menzies, Plant Hunter by James McCarthy, is one of the first full biographies of one of the most influential 18th century Scottish botanists credited with introducing many plants to UK and continental gardens - the monkey puzzle tree amongst them. Published by Whittles Publishing and the RBGE, the book explores Menzies' life as a gardener at RBGE, a medical student and then as a naturalist/botanist whilst serving as a naval surgeon.
