New Bench Adoption Scheme Launched at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
Benches handcrafted from sustainably sourced Scottish oak are now up for adoption as part of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s (RBGE’s) commemorative programme, Celebrate Life.
James Salomons, Development Officer, explained: “Our Garden is a special place in which many people enjoy time with their families or a tranquil respite away from the city. Our new bench adoption programme offers the opportunity to have a personal and tangible place in our Edinburgh Garden to commemorate someone dear to you or celebrate a special event.’’
For £2,000 supporters will be able to adopt a new bench for 10 years. The donation will fund an engraved plaque, maintenance of the bench and support RBGE’s plant science, horticulture and education work.
RBGE has not been able to contact all existing bench adoptees because of changes in circumstances, so anyone who has not received communication about the new scheme, should contact Peter Traynor on 0131 248 2855 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
